Wire Cutting and EDM

At M&C we have three wire cutters capable of cutting 300mm thick hardened steel accurate to 3 microns. These machines are multi axis, meaning that they can cut up to a 30 degree taper and some with auto rethreading which results in a faster job turn around. Harder materials can be cut using this machine such as Carbide. Keyways and gear cutting can easily be performed on these machines giving you that ultimate accuracy.

The EDM is capable of burning deep pockets with square corners, broken parts in blocks that need to be recovered, brands and stamps etc.

Other Services

Internally we have a spray shop and powder coating facilities. However, we quiet often have material heat-treated, shot blasted and galvanised, electroplated and primed for many marine or mining applications depending on the customers requirements.

Tooling Try-Out

Here at M&C we have a large try out press so that we can try out tooling before leaving the premises. Eliminating the requirement of using the client’s production time to commission new or modified tooling. Also the press can push in bearings and straighten bent plate or shafts.

Machining

M&C has the capability of production machining, fine intricate 3 axis CNC machining through to large 7 ton fabricated assemblies, gearboxes, tooling etc. on our larger machines.

Reverse Engineering

If you need an item remanufactured that the technical drawings or data can no longer be found. Don’t worry we can take the original item and reverse engineer it back to their former glory.

Design and Engineering

We have the capability of making products from concept, prototype, worn part or a part print. Our specialty is in designing production tooling to make parts out of coil steel, plastic and casting materials.
